VOLUNTEERS are needed to help dementia patients at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
The appeal is hoped to help patients reminisce through songs and photographs, reading or arts and crafts project.
Volunteers can also offer support by talking to patients or playing games and completing jigsaws.
The appeal is part of the Therapeutic Volunteers scheme, which is dedicated to comforting dementia patients through interaction and activities.
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) are behind the initiative and are actively seeking people to dedicate at least an hour a week to the scheme after receiving special therapeutic training.
Anyone interested in applying can email janet.mortimer@nhs.net or call 07824-569369.
