DARLINGTON Building Society in Cockerton is supporting a summer reading scheme for children across the area.
The Summer Reading Challenge is a national scheme for four to 11-year-olds encouraging them to read outside of school term-time.
They are being challenged to read a book a week during the summer holidays.
As part of its 160th birthday giving scheme, Darlington Building Society’s Cockerton branch has donated £250 to help fund the ‘Cute and Fluffy Animal Show’ that will take place in October half term for the children who successfully complete the reading challenge.
