A FIVE-a-side school football team from Darlington will be representing the town in an upcoming county final.
The boys, from Mowden Junior School, beat nine other schools to become Darlington five-a-side champions.
Alistair Johnson, Deputy Headteacher of Mowden, said: “We have been runners-up in this competition several times, so it’s great to finally get our hands on the silverware!”
The squad comprises of Danny Holmes, 10, Charlie Wood, 11, Oliver Greaves, 11, Will Thorpe, 10, Ewan Lavis, 10, and Matthew Brennan, 10.
The tense final saw Mowden beat Heathfield 1-0, with Charlie Wood scoring the winning goal.
They will now battle it out for the County Cup trophy, to be held on March 15 at the Dolphin Centre.
