A FAMILY-friendly gig has been hailed a success by music lovers of all ages.
The Big Little Gig welcomed every generation to the sold out show designed to inspire an interest in live music from a young age.
The organisation, which has secured funding until May, hosted the Blind Panic ceilidh band who brought a flavour of folk music to the Friends Meeting House, in Skinnergate.
Saturday’s event saw children learn about a range of traditional instruments used by the band in a bid to diversify musical tastes and embrace different styles of music.
The Big Little Gig founder, Sarah Wilson, said: “The event went so well.
“At previous Big Little Gigs we have had some spontaneous dancing going on, but with this being a ceilidh, the children learned actual set dance routines.
“What was so lovely to see was all the parents and grandparents joining in with children - our youngest attendee was just two weeks old with the eldest being in their 70s.
“It just shows how universal the appeal of live music can be. It was lots of fun.”
Ms Wilson is hoping to find finding and sponsors to secure the Big Little Gig’s future and to support a range of artists from across the North-East.
