BRITISH Transport Police officers have released a CCTV image of a man they believe can help with their enquiries into the theft of £200 from a train.
The cash was stolen from a buffet car on board the 12.30pm London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Virgin East Coast Trains service on Sunday, September 27 and police would like to speak to the man pictured who left the train at Darlington station.
Investigating officer PC Gary Sykes said: “A man was walking through the buffet car towards first class when he noticed the till in the buffet car had been left open.
“He leaned over and stole £200 from the till before alighting the train at Darlington.”
