A BUSINESS administration worker from Darlington will take part in a 'white collar' boxing match for charity.
Claire Wood, 43, is set to take part in the match to raise funds for Cancer Research.
The idea to take part in the charity event was heavily influenced by how cancer has affected her own life and the people around her.
Ms Wood sadly lost her grandfather to cancer and her father is now suffering from the disease also.
The Sparta Security worker said: “Cancer affects everybody”
As well as dealing with cancer directly she also wants to take part in the match to raise money for everyone else who has been affected by cancer.
A white collar boxing match is a match between two people of white collar professions, both of which usually have no prior boxing experience.
Ms Wood, who is training twice a day seven days a week said she is in agony with the tough training regime.
The charity event will be taking place on Saturday, October 3, and she is raising money until then.
