PUPILS from a theatre arts school in Darlington wowed audiences at the iconic Tyne Theatre and Opera House in Newcastle.

Pupils from Stagecoach Theatre Arts School in Darlington performed their piece, ‘Songs of Encouragement’.

The troupe was joined by other Stagecoach schools from across Tyne and Wear, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and County Durham.

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Darlington principal, Trudy Hindmarsh said: "After working so hard, our pupils have had the opportunity to experience performing at a renowned theatre which they could well return to in years to come. "The audience rose to give them a standing ovation, giving them a huge boost of confidence and sense of achievement."

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Darlington is part of a network of more than 600 part-time Theatre Arts Schools worldwide.

Early Stages classes are available for children aged 4 to 6 and Main Stages classes take place for 6 to 18 year olds.
