VET charity PDSA is visiting Darlington as part of a national pet wellbeing tour to help domestic animals stay happy and healthy.
In partnership with Darlington Borough Council, PDSA vet nurses will be on board the charity’s PetCheck vehicle carrying out free wellbeing checks for dogs, and giving advice on other pets.
The checks start at Eastbourne Park on September 1 from 10am to 5pm, followed by sessions between the same hours at North Lodge Park, Gladstone Street, on September 2, Cockerton Green on September 3 and at South Park, near the Clock Tower, from 9am to 4pm on September 4.
PDSA Vet Nurse Tina Scrafton will check the health of each dog, including their weight, eyes, ears, coat and general fitness.
Microchipping, nail-clipping and ear-cleaning are offered free of charge if required.
Ms Scrafton can also discuss dogs’ diet, behaviour, socialisation and living environment, and answer any questions, to help owners make the best choices for their pets.
Cats Protection neutering vouchers will also be available.
