A NEW photography exhibition is on display at the Crown Street Art Gallery in Crown Street Library until September 5.

The Encounters exhibition was a chance happening when a group of people interconnected through family and work realised that their artwork was related and there was an opportunity to share it with a wider audience.

The five photographers involved are inviting gallery visitors to experience their encounters with objects and places in the North-East and to wonder about the places and objects they see in the imagery.

They are then challenging visitors to share their captured images of places and spaces they encounter in their lives using the Twitter tag #EncountNE.

The Gallery is open to the public during standard library hours with free entrance, except on Wednesday afternoons when it is closed to house activity between 2pm and 3.30pm.
