COUNCILLORS will next week debate plans to demolish outbuildings to make way for a non-commercial vehicle and boat storage facility.
David MacKenzie wants to build a 5.5m high storage building in Beaumont Hill and has applied to Darlington Borough Council for planning permission.
Occupiers of neighbouring properties have raised no objections.
Papers prepared ahead of the committee meeting on April 8 said: "The design of the store building would be in keeping with its setting, it would not be a highly prominent feature in the area and due to the isolated setting of the application property, no issues would be raised regarding residential amenity."
Officers are recommending that planning permission is granted subject to a series of conditions, including a three-year time limit and the submission of detailed drawings.
