FANTASTIC creatures have been collected for a charity auction.

Organisers of a major theatrical festival recently challenged the public to create their own Jabberwocky.

Named in honour of Lewis Carroll’s fantastical creature, the Jabberwocky Market festival will return to Darlington this month with an eclectic programme of theatre.

In the run up to the festival, the Charity Jabber Auction has been set up to raise funds to deliver workshops for young people and emerging artists in Darlington.

Money raised will also help to provide ‘suspended tickets’ to be donated to those who would otherwise be unable to attend.

The festival team appealed for arty contributions inspired by the mythical Jabberwocky creature and will be auctioning off the submissions.

The online auction will be held prior to the festival, which takes place in Darlington from Thursday, March 26 until Sunday, March 29.
