EACH month The Northern Echo highlights one of the many dogs looking for a home at the Dogs Trust Darlington, in Sadberge, near Darlington.

GUNNER is a seven-year-old crossbreed who has been returned to the Dogs Trust, through no fault of his own.

The medium-sized crossbreed originally came to Dogs Trust as an unwanted puppy and has since had two long term homes but each time a change of circumstances for the owner has meant he has had to be rehomed.

Rebecca McKeown, from Dogs Trust Darlington said: "Gunner is a lively lad, who has bags of character and is a lot of fun. He loves to play with the other dogs here at the centre and his carers; he particularly likes a long walk with the volunteer dog walkers and a tasty treat at the end.

"He is a very social dog who will enjoy being in a home with a family with children over eight-years-old. He does not like fireworks and loud bangs, so this should be taken into consideration by his new owners.

"It is through no fault of his own that Gunner has found his way back to Dogs Trust so many times. As much as the staff are pleased to see him again we hope that he finds the forever home that he deserves very soon."

For more information about Gunner or any of the other dogs at Dogs Trust contact the Sadberge Rehoming Centre on 01325-333114 or visit the centre each day between noon and 4pm, except Wednesdays.
