TWO free exhibitions are running at Crown Street Library this month and into February.
The Tees Valley exhibition, 'Remembering Our War' is on until February 26 and tells the story of people living in the area during the First World War, including what it was like to work at Darlington's National Projectile Factory.
You can also see some of the knitted poppies which were made to commemorate the North East Railwaymen who died during WWI.
Throughout January, the Centre for Local Studies is also remembering the 6th Darlington VAD hospital which was initially based at the Friends Meeting House in Skinnergate before moving to Woodside in 1915.
The display features photographs of the local hospitals which cared for wounded soldiers as well an autograph book owned by local girl Jennie Harker.
Ms Harker helped out at the hospital and collected the sketches, poems and signatures of the servicemen sent to Darlington to be treated.
