THREE children are clear winners of a competition to model eyewear for a family-run chain of opticians.

Brayden Hunter, aged six, nine-year-old Leyla Magor, and Ella Dyer, eight, were the winners of a contest run by Rees & Wade Opticians to find the Young Faces of Rees & Wade.

Pictures of the trio modelling a range of eyewear received the most likes on the Facebook page run by the company, which has practices in Guisborough, Yarm and Darlington.

The children recently took part in a professional photo-shoot and the images will now be used on promotional material over the next 12 months.

The youngsters were also presented with a free pair of Rayban Junior sunglasses of their choice.

As Brayden and Ella already wear glasses they also received a pair of Rayban prescription frames.

Brayden’s mother Dianne, who lives in Swinbridge, Darlington, said: “Brayden has been so excited since he discovered he had won the Darlington competition and he is very happy with the glasses he has won.”

Leyla’s mother Justine, who lives in Alnmouth Drive, Redcar, said: “When we saw the competition advertised in Guisborough we thought we would go for it, but never imagined winning, so this is fantastic. Leyla choose some Aviator-style sunglasses and she couldn’t get them on fast enough.”

Ella’s mother Amy, who lives in Avon Close, Thornaby, said: “We are so pleased and flattered that people voted for Ella, it has been a very exciting time for her.”

Alex Wade, managing director of Rees & Wade, said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of children who came into the three practices to get their photographs taken for the competition and the subsequent response on Facebook was fantastic."
