A BINGO fan is celebrating after pocketing £1,000 on The Northern Echo’s latest competition.
Grandmother-of-three, Barbara Harris, of North Road, in Darlington, scooped the prize after winning a full house on the second week of the Echo’s Round Your Way bingo competition, which runs all this month.
The 68-year-old said she and her husband, Norman, will put the money towards a weekend away to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in September next year.
“We are so happy, we have played The Northern Echo bingo before but we didn’t think we’d win,” she said.
“The most we’ve won in competitions before is a tin of Leyland Paint so it is one up on that.”
Players of Round Your Way bingo must match the names of various North-East towns and cities on their game card to be in with a chance of winning £1,000 each week.
