CHAPEL SAVIOURS: A meeting of a campaign group aiming to save a Darlington cemetery chapel will take place on Thursday, October 3. The ‘Save the Chapel in North Cemetery’ campaigners will meet at The Old Vic on Victoria Road in Darlington from 7pm.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: A meeting of the Darlington Neighbourhood Watch Association will take place on Thursday, October 16. Guest speaker Lynn Walton will talk about the new Good Friends Scheme, which launched in the town today (Wednesday, October 1). The meeting will take place in St Cuthbert’s Church Hall from 6.30pm.
FUNDS RAISED: Residents of a housing complex for the elderly raised £85 for Macmillan Cancer Support last week. The funds were raised through donations, raffles and cake sales at a coffee morning hosted by the residents.
INDIE GIG: Indie musician Paul Hanafin will perform covers and original music at Harvey’s Late Bar in Darlington on Friday, October 4. The free gig will take place between 10.30pm and midnight.
