A FLOWER club’s annual charity fundraiser has made a donation to help support people with central vision loss.
The Darlington Flower Club presented a cheque for £1,354 to Ronald Hay, leader of the Macular Society, at St Cuthbert’s Church, Darlington.
Members of the flower club recently spent the day at Headlam Hall Hotel, near Sedgefield, for their annual Spring Fling where they enjoyed lunch, a presentation from a guest speaker and raised the funds through various stalls and a raffle.
The Macular Society was chosen as the club’s charity of the year after member Liz Crossland was diagnosed with the disease.
The Flower Club will celebrate its 55th anniversary with a celebration lunch next week.
