A NEW facility for people who use British sign language has been added to a council website to provide easier access to information.
Darlington Borough Council has added five video clips highlighting a number of key issues around adult social care, including information about social care assessments, advice on accessing hearing impaired communication, self directed support and its questionnaire.
There is also a video with general information for deaf and hearing impaired people living in Darlington.
Veronica Copeland, the council’s cabinet member for adult social care, said: “It is essential that everyone can access important information about the support and advice available to them.
“These videos mean that those who use British Sign Language can get the help and information they need.”
All the clips are on the council’s website at darlington.gov.uk/bsl
