DARLINGTON Flower Club cultivated cash for charity at its annual Spring Fling fundraising event.

Club members presented their finest floral wares to raise money for the Macular Degeneration Society at the sell-out show on Wednesday. (March 27)

About 120 guests enjoyed a bucks fizz reception at Headlam Hall, near Gainford, County Durham and shopped for shoes, jewellery and accessories before lunch and a presentation.

Club member Doreen Howson said: “This is the 11th year that we have had the event and it is lovely to see the same faces again and again.

“With all the snow here it is more like Christmas but the Spring Fling is a good way to get over the winter blues.”

The club meets again on April 3, at 2pm, in St Cuthbert’s Church hall, Darlington, where Kathleen Williams will deliver a demonstration called Going Dutch.
