INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into a landslip which led to a busy road being closed to traffic.

The A67 at Low Carlbury, between High Coniscliffe and Piercebridge, near Darlington, was closed yesterday (Tuesday, March 19) after further movement in the land was discovered following a landslip in February.

The landslip was caused by heavy rain and a Darlington Borough Council spokeswoman said it is likely the road will be closed for some time.

A diversion is in place from Piercebridge along the B6275, via Staindrop Road and along Carmel Road North.
