A SHOW and walk will be held in the name of a retired guide dog to raise funds.
The show will be held at Amirene, a guide dog centre at Widehope Farm in Bilvershaw, near West Auckland , on Saturday.
It is being held in the name of George, a retired guide dog.
Annie Douglas, George’s owner said: “George would love as many dogs as possible to join him and have some fun.
“As well as the dog and puppy walks, there is a companion dog show, which will be judged by Crufts judge Michelle Pollard.
“There will be a special class in memory of guide dog Ramsey, and the prize will be £100.
“All dogs, pedigree and nonpedigree, as well as all vaccinated puppies are welcome.”
Pippa Turner, community fundraiser for Guide Dogs in the North-East said: “This will be a lovely event on the farm with lots to do for the whole family.
“Guide Dogs receives no statutory funding from the Government or any other body, so every penny raised will help us provide more mobility and independence to people who are visually impaired.”
The walk starts at 10.30am with registration from 10am, followed by the dog show, which will be held under Kennel Club rules.
