CANCER patients experiencing changes in their physical appearance through their treatments are being offered practical support in North-East hospitals.
The Look Good Feel Better charity has announced its partnership with County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust to host confidence-boosting masterclasses.
Volunteer beauty professionals will lead two sessions focussing on skincare and makeup techniques in small groups that are open to anyone undergoing cancer treatment.
Tina Murray, from Neasham, near Darlington, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, said: “I was unsure whether I would enjoy it, but am rapidly realising anything that makes you feel positive and good about yourself during the worst period of your life can only be a good thing for mind, body and soul.”
The next masterclass will be held on Monday, November 6, between 1pm and 3pm in Darlington Memorial Hospital, off Hollyhurst Road, followed by a further session on Monday, December 4, from 1pm until 3pm at the Bannatyne’s Health Club, Eden Terrace, in Durham.
