FOLLOWING the success of last year's healthy eating campaign, people are again being encouraged to improve their diet.

The Eat Well Feel Good scheme was specially designed by Macmillan and the British Dietetic Association to support those living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Run by Trinity Holistic Centre, at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, the six week programme shows people how to manage a healthy weight and make healthy food choices.

Heather McLean, the centre’s business manager said: “We know that many people worry about their diet following a diagnosis of cancer or other long term conditions and this programme is an opportunity to receive evidence based guidance from an experienced team.”

Thanks to support from Middlesbrough Environment City the programme will also include some cookery skills to put new knowledge straight into action in the centre’s newly refurbished kitchen.

Patient (CORR) Johnathon Taylor said: “It was incredibly useful and helped us all make more thoughtful food choices after my cancer diagnosis. It was really helpful to be able to share experiences with others in the group. I would recommend it to anyone.”
