A PROJECT to help conserve the heritage of a national park has won a national award and a £1,000 prize.

The North York Moors National Parks Authority landed the Campaign for National Parks' Park Protector Award for its innovative Buildings at Risk survey app, which was loaded with historic data, photos and past survey results to help the volunteers locate and collate data on listed buildings.

Project coordinator Beth Davies said the cost -effective and efficient scheme would revolutionise how such data was collected and make nationwide collection feasible.
