TWO men have been jailed after taking a wagon without the owner’s consent.

David Hanley, of Hawes Crescent, Crook, and Russell Frederick Snowdon, of Grasmere Grove, Crook appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court today for the offence which took place on July 21 this year.

Hanley, 26, pleaded guilty to taking the Mitsubishi Canter without consent (TWOC) and was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Snowdon, 40, pleaded guilty to TWOC, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. He was given 12 weeks in jail for the TWOC, 12 weeks concurrent for driving whilst disqualified and he was ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge. He was also disqualified from driving for six months.
