AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a taxi was found burnt out on a driveway in County Durham.
Fire crews were called out at 4.33am on Tuesday to the flaming Star Cabs vehicle which was parked on MacMillan Road, in Newton Aycliffe.
A spokesperson for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said an appliance from the town was sent to the scene where two hose reels and breathing apparatus was used by firefighters to put out the blaze.
The spokesperson added an investigation into the cause has since been launched.
Star Cabs did not wish to comment.
