A FAMILY is appealing for help to trace a stolen glitter tattoo kit used by a kind-hearted youngster to fundraise for her roller hockey club.

Charitable Maisie Bunton, 11, has been left disappointed and empty-handed after the kit inside a cosmetics box was stolen from her mother's car in Willington, County Durham.

The Christmas present, worth more than £100, was used by the Willington Primary School pupil to raise cash for the town's roller hockey club, the Spectrum Spartans, at fundraising events.

"She was disappointed and it's an inconvenience for us as it puts her contribution (to the club) to a stop," said her mother Gemma Hamilton. "I'm furious because you work hard and buy things and it's been taken."

The family is appealing to residents in the town to keep their eyes peeled for the business starter glitter tattoo equipment which is in a cosmetics box that attaches to a trolley.

Miss Hamilton, whose daughter plays for the children's roller hockey team, said it was a blow for the club which is entirely self-funded.

The club runs a roller disco every Saturday from 10am to noon followed by a roller hockey session from noon to 1pm.

Crook Neighbourhood Police Team have issued a warning to residents to lock car doors and keep anything valuable out of sight or out of the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call non-emergency 101 and ask for PC 1430 Boyd at Crook Police Office.
