POLICE say a young driver stopped in a Porsche Cayman on the A19 was travelling at an average speed of 133mph.
Officers trying to stop the car reached 144mph, according to an image from a traffic vehicle published by Cleveland Durham Roads Policing Unit.
The Porsche was stopped on the southbound carriageway of the A19.
The unit said: "The 19-year-old driver was stopped and informed of his average speed of 133mph.
"He will shortly be going to court to explain his actions."
