Hunt for serial arsonist after cars torched
THREE cars were set on fire in Sunderland.
Between 3am and 3.10am on Monday, May 11, two cars - a Peugeot 2008 and a Mercedes - were set on fire while parked in Villette Brook Street.
"Around 4.30am the same morning, a silver Nissan Almera parked in Cairo Street was also set on fire," said a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police.
"All three vehicles suffered serious damage, however no-one was injured.
"The fires are being treated as arson and police are appealing for witnesses."
Anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number 99 11/05/15, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
