DURHAM Police and Crime Commissioner, Ron Hogg, is asking the public to give him views on his refreshed Police and Crime Plan for 2015-17.

There are several ways members of the public can submit their views including completing a short consultation online or over the phone.

Mr Hogg will also be available to meet in person at the Cornmill Shopping Centre, in Darlington, on Friday, January 23, from 11am to 2pm and then again on January 31, at the Prince Bishops Shopping Centre, in Durham, from 11am to 2pm.

He said: “I am responsible for the maintenance of an efficient and effective police force, commissioning local services to help cut crime and improve community safety.

“I represent your views and ensure that you have a voice.

“I work to ensure that the police deliver the best service possible across County Durham and Darlington, and I hold the Chief Constable to account for delivering the priorities set out in my plan.”

He added: “I will ensure that your views are taken into account before I finalise the plan, which sets the overall strategic direction for the Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary.”

The consultation is open until February 15 and all responses will then be considered and the final plan will be available from the April 1.
