Police appealing for information after incidents of damage to, and thefts from parked cars
POLICE are appealing for information following incidents of vandalism to, and thefts from parked cars in neighbouring communities.
Stones were reported to have been thrown at a Landrover Freelander parked in North View Terrace, Chilton Moor, near Houghton-le-Spring, between 9pm on Boxing Day and 9am the following morning.
It left dents in the roof of the vehicle, while in other recent incidents residents have reported thefts from cars parked in Bank Head Terrace, Mulberry Park and Pine Avenue areas of nearby Fencehouses.
The targeted areas span the Northumbria/Durham force boundary.
Anyone with information should ring 101, and ask for extension 6919, or the Crimestoppers freephone line, anonymously, on 0800-555-111.
