A POLICE force is recruiting more ‘specials’.
Durham Police is taking on more Special Constables, trained volunteer police officers, from Friday, September 26.
Recruitment events are being held across the force area during September.
Sessions are planned for Consett fire station on Tuesday (September 9), Bishop Auckland fire station on Tuesday, September 16, Darlington College’s restaurant on Thursday, September 18, and police headquarters at Aykley Heads on Monday, September 22. All events are from 7pm to 8pm.
Potential applicants are asked to call the force’s human resources team on 0191-375-2123 or email: human.resources@durham.pnn.police.uk to book a place.
There will be a live web chat question-and-answer session on the force’s website, durham.police.uk, on Wednesday, September 17, at 7pm.

Deputy chief constable Michael Banks said: “We are a community-based force with a strong family spirit amongst all our staff and our specials are an integral part of our policing family.
“We are keen to recruit individuals from all backgrounds and actively encourage those from diverse backgrounds to apply. We want to represent all of our communities within County Durham and Darlington.”
