PARENTS are being reminded they are running out of time to apply for primary school places in County Durham for their children.
The deadline for applications to start school this September is Monday, January 15.
To be eligible to start school in September 2018, the child’s birthday must fall between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014.
Cllr Olwyn Gunn, Cabinet member for children and young people’s services, said: “We know that the decision of where to send your child is a major one, and can be difficult, but we would urge parents to make sure they apply by the deadline.
“A late application greatly reduces your chances of getting into your preferred school.”
Applications can be made at durham.gov.uk/schooladmissions, or by post.
