HOUSEHOLDERS in County Durham are being reminded to sign-up for this year’s garden waste collections.
Durham County Council offers 17 fortnightly collections between spring and autumn for an annual fee of £20.
The deadline for subscribing to the service is Sunday, February 14, and collections will start in March
Residents who sign up for the service will receive a pink sticker for their garden waste bin and a calendar giving details of this year’s collection dates.
More than 47,000 residents have signed up so far.
Those who subscribed for up for three years in 2015 will automatically receive their sticker and calendar.

Garden waste collections in Teesdale are provided by Rotters, working in partnership with Durham County Council.
Teesdale residents should make arrangements for collections by visiting rotters.org or call 01833-690022.
Roadshows are being held around the county to provide more information about garden waste collections.
They take place at Chester-le-Street Leisure Centre, on Thursday, February 11, from 4pm to 6pm; Friday, Seaham Asda, on Friday, February 12, from 9am to 1pm; Durham Market, on Saturday, February 13, from 9am to 3pm.
