Cock-a-hoop Castle Eden look to make it six wins in six outings today and extend their lead at the top of the table. Castle are 35 points clear of second-placed Felling, and that margin is set to increase as Felling don't have a game today.

A blistering start has seen the villagers surge ahead of the rest of the early season pack, and with their new professional showing exceptional form in his first few games skipper John Spellman can't get over just how well he has performed: 'Swaru looks top notch. He's been impressive with the bat and does all sorts with the ball - drift, turn, control, the lot. It makes it so easy to set a field to him.'

Purkayastha will be on display to home supporters again when the kings of the Castle entertain Norton, and the team are unchanged with Spellman suggesting that Saturday's starting eleven is their best and that there are likely to be very few changes as the campaign unfolds. Norton have Chris Fawcett and Matthew Langford back.

If you're stuck for something to do on Monday you could do worse than going along to Whitburn where the club are putting on a special day to celebrate their 150th anniversary.

The milestone is to be marked with a four team T20 event and carnival atmosphere with the current first team joined by the Saunders cup winning team of 1990, captained by club chairman Russell Muse, a team of ex-players led by Chris Ellison, and an all star XI, including a number of former Durham players with Ashley Thorpe at the helm.

The action starts at 11am and is expected to go on long into the night with a barbecue, memorabilia stalls and entertainment planned.

But before the celebrations comes the more serious business of a home game against champions Kimblesworth. By coincidence the two team's seasons have followed exactly the same pattern, with an indifferent start being followed by two wins in two days in last week's double header. This almost mirror image has the champions just one point better off than Whitburn.

Unfortunately for the home side they will be missing in-form Ross Carty who shared in century stands in both games last weekend. Also out is Craig Smith although Paul Cook returns. Kimblesworth will be without key player Stephen Meek.

Boldon bring in Gareth Smith for the trip to Durham, but one player who won't be playing is Matthew Sampson-Barnes who is taking some time out from playing cricket.

In today's other games Alec Linsley and David Lowther return to the Burnmoor team for their home tie with Philadelphia, unchanged Eppleton entertain Marsden and David Conway is back in the South Hetton dressing room as they take on same-again Horden.
