A COLLEGE and fire brigade have joined forces to raise awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the community in the light of the recent high-profile heart attack of Fabrice Muamba during the FA Cup match between Spurs and Bolton.
Staff from Cleveland Fire Brigade will give a 30-minute session on the basics of CPR in every class of Hartlepool College of Further Education this week.
And Hartlepool United Football club is sending their first team squad to take part in the event The British Heart Foundation has also agreed to be involved in this initiative, which will be highlighting the need tomonitor your health, exercise and the importance of a healthy diet.
The emphasis of the day will be to show as many people as possible that a lot can be achieved by doing a little - such as saving someone's life.
