PLACES are still available at antenatal classes aiming to promote a relaxed birthing concept among expectant mothers.
The Daisy Birthing sessions, by Nicola Hopkins, from the Lazy Daisy team, who was a midwife at Bishop Auckland Hospital for five years, use gentle yoga moves, breathing work and self-hypnosis techniques and emphasise the importance of staying positive and relaxed while giving birth.
At the end of each session, there is a relaxation exercise aimed at helping women to bond with their bump.
The sessions are for women only, who are more than 14 weeks pregnant, but separate sessions for couples will be offered in the near future.
The classes take place on Wednesdays, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Enrolment has been reduced from £54 to £40.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and take a yoga mat and cushion.
For information, or to book, call Nicola Hopkins on 07763-689146 or email nicola@lazydaisybirthing.co.uk.
