A MAN has died after apparently falling from the high level bridge on Newcastle Quayside.
The police were alerted to a man on the structure around 8pm tonight.
Minutes later the ambulance service reported finding a man on the ground near The Quayside Bar.
He was taken to Newcastle RVI Hospital but was pronounced dead.
“We are not in a position to release details of the man at this stage. Inquiries into the incident are continuing and we have no further information at this time,” a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said. “Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.”
