FLAMBOYANT singer Boy George posted online pictures of himself sporting a black eye after apparently getting caught up in a fracas in a North Yorkshire night spot.

The former frontman of Culture Club was DJing at Club Amadeus, in Northallerton, but as he went to leave, a tussle ensued during which he claimed he was poked in the eye.

Meanwhile, Danielle Forster, 23, who went to the club with boyfriend Matthew Jewitt, 19, on Saturday to see the star’s DJ set, claimed that she was hit on the forehead as she went to greet the star.

The singer, 50, later posted a picture on Twitter of his shiner, claiming he had been poked in the eye by a fan.

A spokesman for Boy George, real name George O’Dowd, said the club’s management asked a woman to leave.

Mother-of-three Miss Forster, from Northallerton, said she suffered from concussion after being hit on the head and had to go for an X-ray at the town’s Friarage.

“I used to be a fan of Boy George – but not now,” she added.

Boy George commented on the picture showing off his swollen eye. He said: “Looking pretty after getting assaulted on Saturday night!

“Someone pulled off my hat and in the struggle to get it back I got poked.”

Club Amadeus owner George Crow was not available for comment last night.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “We can confirm that a complaint was received from a 23- year-old local woman following an incident outside Club Amadeus, in Northallerton, which is alleged to have occurred at approximately 2.50am on Sunday.

“No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.”
