TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary following an attempted ram-raid on a pawnbrokers, which caused about £30,000 worth of damage.
A stolen black Kia Sorrento was captured on security cameras reversing into the Ramsdens shop window, in Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, at about 7am on Monday.
The driver waited for a bus to pass before moving the vehicle into position and hitting the premises. The front of the property was badly damaged, but the attempt to get into the property failed and the driver left empty-handed.
The car was stolen during a burglary on Sunday night in West End Villas, Coundon.
The men, aged 32 and 33, from Bishop Auckland, have been bailed pending further inquiries.
Ramsdens has re-opened following extensive repair work.
