THE special Metro train service from Sunderland to Newcastle Central Station was due to depart at 10.13am on Sunday morning but will now go at 10.12am.
The train will run non-stop and the return journey to Wearside will set off at 3.26pm.
There will be no Northern Rail services on Sunday due to track engineering.
Northumbria Police are urging Sunderland to use the fre coaches being laid on by the club.
Sunderland fans will be held back after the final whistle to allow home supporters to leave the Sports Direct Arena This will fans arrive safely and in plenty of time for the 12pm kick-off as well as help minimise disruption to other travellers.
Sunderland fans will also be asked to remain in the North Stand for a short time at the end of the match while home fans disperse. This is to ensure all supporters leave the ground safely.
