A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious facial injuries after being in a collision with a lorry.
The 48-year-old was riding his BMW motorcycle on the B1257, in the Chop Gate area, near Stokesley, North Yorkshire, at about 7.30pm on Wednesday.
At the time of the collision the motorcycle was heading towards Helmsley and the mustard-coloured HGV was travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old man from Hull sustained serious facial injuries, although they are not believed to be life threatening.
He was airlifted to York District Hospital and is now in a stable condition.
The 53-year-old driver of the lorry was not injured.
The road was closed for approximately six hours following the collision.
Traffic Constable Tony Leonard, of North Yorkshire Police's roads policing group, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen either of the vehicles travelling on the B1257 prior to the crash.”
