A YOUNG girl remains in a stable condition in hospital after she was involved in an accident on Saturday afternoon.
The 12-year-old was in collision with a yellow Mini on the A1027 just under the Bridge after the junction of Norton Road, in Stockton.
Police closed off the road at around 4.30pm to carryout an investigation of the scene.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "The 12-year-old girl was taken to North Tees University Hospital for treatment before being transferred to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, where she remains in a stable condition."
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident and Cleveland Police are urging witnesses to contact them on 01642-326326.
