Two men have been arrested after a 51-year-old man was slashed, police said today.
The victim was treated at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for a swollen arm and cuts to his head and an arm.
The incident happened at the junction of the A174 Windsor Road and Bath Street in Saltburn, east Cleveland, at about 8.25pm last night(Thursday, December 23).
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said that two men aged 45 and 33 have been arrested in connection with the assault and were being held for questioning.
Officers are urging any witnesses - including passers-by who stopped their vehicle to help the bleeding man - to cal DC Barry Hunter on 01642-302626 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
