SIX tiny piglets have been born at a new North-East theme park.

The micropiglets, or tea cup pigs, were born to mother Florence and father Albert at Adventure Valley, near Durham City, in the early hours of Sunday, September 19.

The three females and three males each currently stand at about four inches tall.

Three have been named – females Socks and Belina and male Fabio.

Fans of Adventure Valley will have the chance to choose names for the remaining three through a competition on the attraction’s Facebook page.

General manager Vikki Goodings said: “Florence started going into labour at 11pm and I sat with her throughout the night.

“Her first baby arrived at 4.30am. She did so well and is loving being a mother. We are all so proud of her.

“They’re very popular with visitors. Everyone thinks they’re fantastic.”

Tea cup pigs grow to only 14in tall and 65lb in weight, but they have become something of a must-have for celebrities and have sold for up to £700.

Owners are said to have included Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley.
