YOUNG engineers came from across the country to compete in an electric car racing tournament.
The event, at Croft Circuit, near Darlington, pitted students and their creations against each other and the clock.
The competition, run by Greenpower in partnership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, was open to secondary school and university-age students.
St Bede’s College, in Lanchester, County Durham, won a prize for being the best presented team.
