A TELEVISION film crew is scaling great heights to catch a different glimpse of some of Britain’s finest buildings.
Durham Cathedral is the first iconic structure to receive the new bird’s eye documentary treatment.
The BBC2 daytime series Scaling Britain will be screened some time in the autumn, with the cathedral to be featured in the first programme.
Presenter Dr Jonathan Foyle, an expert in architectural history, accompanied by more experienced climbers, scaled the cathedral exterior.
With a cameraman accompanying him on his ascents, he outlined its design, construction and role in British architectural and engineering history.
He will scale the interior of the building today.
