I have to say I feel just a little bit queasy after reading this morning's front pages.

It's a real Dave & Nick love fest worthy of a Mills and Boon book sale.

"A special relationship" is the Torygraph's take on matters. "The happy couple at Number 10" says The Guardian. "Dave and Nick, Britain's new power couple" (The Indie) and "The Great No. 10 love-in" (Daily Mail).

The honeymoon period for Britain's political newly-weds is in its early days but it will soon be over when the cuts start biting.

The Sun made me laugh by presenting Dave and Nick as Morecambe and Wise, with the headline "Bring us sunshine."

Ever since seeing it, I can't get the image out of my head of Eric and Ern reading the papers in bed together.

I have this vision of Dave and Nick in their blue and yellow stripey pyjames - more blue stripes than yellow obviously - nibbling toast and musing about the national deficit: "So what do you think we should do Darling?"

"No, you're getting mixed up, Dave. Darling was the last Chancellor."
