I MUST applaud Darlington Borough Council for flying the flag of St George last Friday on the town clock and offer praise to Frankies and the Boot and Shoe pubs for doing the same.
Special thanks also to my friends for making it an enjoyable day, and praise to the Tanners Hall and the good lady at home for supplying a splendid breakfast and supper.
Now, let’s hope St George’s Day becomes a Bank Holiday so that the whole of England can enjoy its patron saint’s day.
