Cockfield residents have only 21days to make any objections to turning ‘Hycroft’ into a residential school after a planning application was made today. Objections must reach Teesdale planning department by the 21st May; here is the press release from Durham County Council.

DURHAM COUNTY COUNCIL PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT, 1990 DEVELOPMENT WITHIN CONSERVATION AREAS.

Change of use of premises to a residential care home (class C2) at Hycroft, (Highcroft), The Green, Cockfield.

The above site is within Cockfield Conservation Area.

Copies of the application(s) and plan(s) are available for inspection on the Council’s website at http://teesdale.planning-register.co.uk/ or at the Barnard Castle Area Planning Office, Teesdale House, Galgate, Barnard Castle DL12 8EL during normal office working hours.

Any objections or representations about the proposal(s) should be submitted by email to planningbarnardcastle@durham.gov.uk or in writing to the Development Control Manager at the above address within 21 days from the date of the appearance of this Notice.

An opportunity exists for members of the public, applicants and their agents to speak at the Council’s County Committee or Area Planning Committee in the case of non-delegated applications. Details of the procedures involved can be obtained from the Council offices at the above address.

You may wish to bear in mind that, under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any representations so made are available for inspection by the public and published on the internet.
